Jack's Fresh Market

We are loyal shoppers to this location which can possibly be looked up by my phone number for their rewards program. We don’t like big name brand stores, and we live in Menominee so this location is the closest. Yet I was accused of possibly bringing bottles from over the state border to return at this location which I would never do. I was told I need to have my receipts showing I paid for the product and paid the deposit to return certain bottles here, this is so unacceptable and I’m extremely disappointed in how I was treated at this location today. It is one thing to think that someone is breaking the law, but it’s a very different thing to verbally out loud accuse them of it in front of another customer who was in line behind me. I will be looking through my receipts to bring them into the store just to prove my point because I am very upset at being accused of breaking the law. Edited to add receipt photo to review.

Just moved into the area- and with a family with gluten, dairy and egg allergies it has been challenging to find allergen friendly foods and organic produce. This location of Jack's seems to have the best selection of all of them in the area- (as limited as it is.) The prices are high- but at least they have some of the items we need (Like B-Free bread) I get the rest (strangely) at Walmart or Meijers in Escanaba. I put in a request for some gluten free /dairy free cashew ice cream and a manager called me and said she would order it and it would be in the next Wednesday-- still haven't seen it after several weeks, so not sure what happened there. Nice to see they are at least trying to make accommodations- would like to see more GF, dairy free items (like Forager Organic Cashew yogurt) and more organic produce options-- (like organic tomatoes, cucumbers, and kale, but I can get most of them at Walmart (sad, because I am not a fan of Walmart and would prefer to give my money to local stores). They also have 3 and 5 gallon bottled drinking water exchange which is nice (but pricey- as they don't have the option to refill bottles- only exchange)

Prices are absolutely outrageous here. They’ve been called out for price gouging before, but either denied it or offered coupons as hush bribes. I’ve bought many things that were far expired, bought a drink that had expired in November 2022, it was March ‘23. Just drive the extra 5 miles to Walmart and get your moneys worth. This place was so much better as Angeli’s than it is as Jacks.

Just moved back to this area and extremely disappointed with the service provided by this local supermarket. The twin cities have a large aging market, however this business has chosen to eliminate bagging as a service. This absolutely amazes me being new to area. Also how the cashiers and management team are so openly Rude to their customers. Pretty amazing to see.

One check out open, everything else was self checkout. Starting to turn in to a real Walmart around here. Update: I wanted to send a live plant to my friend and went to Jack's to browse their floral department. The live, potted plants are very expensive (between $45 to $65), I understand that healthy, living plants may be expensive, but all of the ones I looked at were sick or damaged in some capacity. I'm not paying that kind of money for plants with damaged, sick or insect eaten leaves. At least trim the damaged leaves off! Update: Not a cashier in sight, only self check out, even though there was two women just standing around the front. I'm sick of this nonsense, Jacks is expensive enough as it is without them forcing their customers to work for them as well. I wish there was another grocery store in town. Edit: Jacks continues to remove products from their store and replace brands with Great Value. You can no longer buy individual turnips or parsnips, you have to buy a bag of them.
